Where it fits in the system

On felt roofs, Technical Mesh SW-1 is embedded into the second coat of HYDRONYLON HP. On PVC membranes it is worked into the first coat of HYDRONYLON HN by brush. The mesh reinforces the cured layer at details and across full surfaces.

Coverage

  • Allow approx. 1.05 m² of mesh per m² of roof on felt build-ups and approx. 1.1 m² per m² on PVC membranes, which accounts for the required overlaps.
  • Example: a 50 m² felt roof needs approx. 52.5 m² of mesh; a single 1 m × 100 m roll (100 m²) covers this with margin.
  • Complete build-up materials costs per m² that include the mesh (materials only): felt £34.89, PVC membrane £32.61.

Application notes

  • Embed the mesh into the wet second coat of HYDRONYLON HP on felt build-ups.
  • On PVC membranes, work the mesh into the wet first coat of HYDRONYLON HN, applied by brush.
  • Maintain overlaps of at least 10 cm on felt build-ups and at least 5 cm on PVC membranes.
  • Allow a minimum of 24 h before the next coat is applied over the embedded mesh.

Frequently asked questions

Which roll widths are available?

Technical Mesh SW-1 is supplied in 100 m rolls in four widths: 0.25 m, 0.5 m, 1 m and 2 m.

What overlap does the mesh need?

Maintain overlaps of at least 10 cm on felt build-ups and at least 5 cm on PVC membranes.

Is the mesh always required?

The mesh is part of the standard build-up on felt, embedded into the second coat of HYDRONYLON HP, and on PVC membranes, where it is worked into the first coat of HYDRONYLON HN. The standard metal and mineral build-ups do not include mesh.
